PinPoint Astrometric Engine

PinPoint Astrometric Engine and Visual Astrometry Tools - Works standalone and in conjunction with our ACP Observatory Control Software and Diffraction Limited's MaxIm DL image processing and camera control system. For more information on PinPoint, see the PinPoint Home Page.

Here's how to choose your package:

If you are purchasing ACP, and don't need the Visual PinPoint astrometry tools, you do not need to purchase PinPoint separately. The contents of the PinPoint CD-ROM (including the GSC/1.1 catalog) are included with the ACP CD-ROM.
If you just want to purchase the complete package, including the Guide Star Catalog 1.1 in the STScI format as needed by PinPoint, simply order the Full package. Everything you need will be delivered on CD-ROM.
If you want to evaluate the program but have no catalog, order the CD-Only package to get the Guide Star Catalog 1.1 in the correct format. Download the program and do your evaluation. Later, order the License Only package to unlock the program after the 60 day evaluation period has passed. You'll spend the same amount as though you ordered the CD-ROM package in the first place.
If you have the full USNO A2.0 catalog (6 gigabytes) on your hard disk, or if you have a copy of the Guide Star Catalog 1.1 in its original FITS table format (data files may be gzip compressed), you do not need the CD-ROM package. Download the program and order the License Only package to unlock it after the 60 day trial period.

Full Package

PinPoint Astrometric Engine, shipped on CD-ROM with the Guide Star Catalog 1.1 (STScI format). The program (without a reference catalog) may be downloaded for 60 day evaluation. Licensing instructions will be emailed shortly after your purchase is completed.

License Only

PinPoint Astrometric Engine - License Only. The software must be downloaded and will run for a 60 day evaluation period. The download includes no reference catalogs. You must have either the USNO A2.0 (6 gigabytes) or the Guide Star Catalog 1.1 in its original STScI format (files may be gzip-compressed). Licensing instructions will be emailed shortly after your purchase is completed.

CD-ROM Only

PinPoint Astrometric Engine, shipped on CD-ROM with the Guide Star Catalog 1.1 (STScI format). This package includes no license and will run for 60 days after it is first used. The program (without a reference catalog) may be downloaded for 30 day evaluation. You may order the License Only package later to unlock the program, and you will pay the same total price as though you ordered the Full package.
